We are great believers in supporting charities and we like to give something back to our community. With this in mind the main charity we support is chYps, Children’s Hospice at Home. chYps started life in 1994 as the Children & Young Peoples’ Service of EllenorLions Hospices in North West Kent (Dartford, Gravesend, Swanley). It then grew to include the London Borough of Bexley and now includes, Tonbridge, Maidstone, Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks. They have a very clear focus: to enable Children and Young People with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions to receive end of life, respite, palliative and oncology care to their children and families in the place of their choice, which is overwhelmingly their own home. They were the UK’s first children’s full hospice at home service, and still one of only a very few acute services providing oncology and end of life care to children in the home.
